The society recently emailed a list of plot holders where, during the end of October inspection, some plot vegetation/items belonging to these plots was found to be encroaching into the access road and over the curb in front or aside their plots.
The Society acknowledges that some work had already been done by plot holders by the time of this communication and that effort is very much appreciated and helps to keep the access roads clear and available for vehicles and other plot holders when needed.
One other important point to remember is that each plot needs to be clearly numbered so that there is no confusion over which plot belongs to which plot holder. If you’re feeling creative and want to make and display your own plot number, please do so – some plots have already done this and there are some great examples to be seen if you walk the site. The society is also looking at a sustainable, safe and consistent way to number all plots and we are doing this in conjunction with Manchester City Council.
Lastly, a reminder that the site is managed and supported by volunteers and plot holders just like you. Everyone works very hard in the background/on workdays to keep the site running in a way that is safe and accessible for everyone. We are very fortunate to have such a great site but it must be kept tidy and accessible for everyone or we risk losing it.
