Water provision on site

tap

Council rules are quite clear about this – under no circumstances should hosepipes be permanently attached to communal taps.  The taps are communal and the water supply is metered and where possible, Plot holders should be using a water butt water supply and a watering can. The only time a hosepipe is allowed to be used on the site is when a water butt/pond is being filled or the plot holder has been granted special dispensation by the Society because of a disability or other health reason. Any plot found attaching a permanent hosepipe to a tap will receive a warning from the council and may be evicted from the site so please be fair, do not abuse the provision of water on site as it may be removed. The inspection team regularly inspect the communal taps around the site so please let a member of the committee know if you see taps permanently attached to taps on site.
Any fittings found permanently attached to taps will be removed and confiscated by the inspection team as part of the Officers’ duties in managing the site. Please try to conserve water where you can by mulching crops and utilising water butts where possible., do not abuse the provision of water on site as it may be removed. The inspection team regularly inspect the communal taps around the site so please let a member of the committee know if you see hosepipes permanently attached to taps on site.
