The main carpark is situated between the cabin and the toilet and the site speed limit is strictly 5mph. Please park considerately in this area thus maximising the parking potential.
Please also be aware of children in this area and we encourage parents to be vigilant of their children’s whereabouts as some may be quite small and obscured from the drivers view, especially when vehicles are reversing.
Parking on the main road running from the front gate to the back gate is not permitted. This includes parking by the main entrance gate or in front of the cabin.
You are permitted to use the main road for dropping off and picking up items for your allotment but be aware that access is needed by pedestrians, bicycles and mobility vehicles, so you should target a quick turnaround time when dropping off and picking up.
In other areas where parking is available like side roads, the protocol for parking is that you park tightly into one side of the road and at the front of your plot so that pedestrians, bicycles and wheelbarrows can safely get past. If overhanging or encroaching vegetation from your plot makes it impossible to provide the access required, you are not allowed to park in that area and the plot holder should cut back their encroaching vegetation to the boundary of their plot before parking again. If cars are being blocked in by other cars or pedestrians cannot pass with ease, the vehicle owner must move their vehicle to allow exit immediately; the phrase “I will be just a few minutes” is unacceptable and you must move it straight away.
Please do not arrange deliveries of compost in any car park area or communal road – there is adequate space on each plot for these deliveries.
If there are no spaces available, please park outside the site with consideration for the local residents or consider walking, cycling or using public transport where possible.
